We are in a very turbulent and partisan environment in politics these days. There are two very distinct sides to the politics that are being played out in our government. One side is supporting the people of the United States, the economy for them, and the democracy that the United States was built upon. The other side is trying to bring their conservative policies into every facet of Americans' lives, by dictating through laws and policies, restrictions on freedom, on health care, and on the economy for most of us in the U.S.
We need to start the change here in Wisconsin's 5th Congressional District by removing career politician Scott Fitzgerald from his seat and installing a moderate that will bring beneficial policies and laws to all the constituents of the 5th District and to the state of Wisconsin.
My working class, non-politician ideals will bring a moderate vision to the district supporting Unions, creating manufacturing jobs and protecting the rights of all.
Protecting American Democracy
Protecting our democracy is the single most important issue we need to address today. Without having a truly democratic country that we currently enjoy, with all of our freedoms, the other issues that we are facing will not be attainable. I will keep a continual watch out for any issue regarding voter rights for gerrymandered political districts and insurgencies against our democratic process. I will use the resources of Congress to defeat any incursion into dismantling our democratic life.
Protecting Women’s Rights
Women in the 5th District deserve all the rights any other American has in regards to health care, pay, violence against them, and education, so they can truly be an equal individual in this country. The Supreme Court has decided that state politicians should decide how the healthcare of women should be provided and whom should provide that. This takes away the basic premise of healthcare, where all decisions are made between the patient and their doctor. Most politicians do not understand many aspects of medical care and should not place themselves in a position to interrupt this sacred relationship.
Protect and Defend Social Security
Social Security has been an enduring promise to America’s seniors since 1935. Most Americans have counted on Social Security payments after a fulfilling life in the workforce. I will fight to keep Social Security, to have annual cost of living increases and not raise the age in order to claim benefits.
